Suburban Girl Studio Design Team - Fall Reveal!

November 1st! I know, huh?!  Where has the year gone?
Lucky for you, it's time for the
Suburban Girl Studio Design Team's
Fall Reveal!

Diana from Suburban Girl Studio sent me one
of her Heart Shaped Pendants - Sweet!!

This time, I sort of knew what I wanted to do, so once I got started designing (which wasn't until the last minute!)
it went pretty smoothly.
I was lucky enough this go-around
to supply each member of the group with one of
my copper swirl clasps.

I wanted to make a couple of my own components this time too, so I wire wrapped this cool little rock that I found on one of our last outings in the desert and I created a Sari Silk, wire and bead wrapped 'bead', too.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year and my sister and I usually take a sister's trip and head some place here in the state that cools off enough to have the leaves change
and actually look and feel (temperature wise) like fall.

This is a pic of Sedona from one of our trips a few years back.

Autumn in Sedona, Arizona

The blue sky, the red rocks, the colors of the trees.

It was my inspiration for this piece.

The Hubby and I were married in Sedona 18 years ago this past September.

Sedona is a beautiful place - during any season!

Thanks to Diana of Suburban Girl Studio
for having me along for the ride this year.

It's been a blast creating designs with her
gorgeous pendants and components!

Hop on over to the other team member's
sites and see all their great designs!

**Special Note**  Team members Sandra Miller & Jan Onipenco are currently out of power  due to Hurricane Sandy and will post when they're back up and running.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are affected from this storm.**

Until Next Time,
Peace, Love and Fall Fun!

  1. Your design is fabulous. Fall is my favorite time of year too, this necklace is perfect for a fall weekend trip. Cheers!

  2. Great color palette Shel! I love the earthy terra cotta with the turquoise. And I think that copper is my favorite metal color of all time. I think that Diana's pendants are so gorgeous. I don't prefer a high shine on clay pieces and these are so neutral they would work with any color scheme. Nicely done! Enjoy the day. Erin

  3. Beautiful piece! I love the southwest colors! My first tip out to the SW when I was a kid was to Sedona. I still have fond memories of the beautiful scenery out there.

  4. Shel I LOVE this piece! Turquoise is one of my favorite stones, but I absolutely love your copper clasps! Didn't realize you were making components now! Great inspiration and a very boho Southwest feel to this one. So very pretty

  5. Thanks for all the nice compliments you guys, glad you like my design. Sedona's a great place of inspiration - that's for sure! And Diana, your pendants are truly divine to work with!

  6. Wow this is a beautiful piece. I love Suburban Girl Studio (Ms. Diana) too. Colors are gorgeous and your wire work is awesome. LOVE it!

  7. Beautiful. That is one of my favorite color schemes. I love the sari wrapped bead too.

  8. Aww, really captured that. Love Sedona and autumn out your way is so different to where we live now. But I can see the a South West autumn happening here in your design. Beautiful.

  9. Your necklace was a collection, a treasure! I loved the variety of beads and gems in the perfect Sedona palette. And thanks again for the clasps! They were perfect!

  10. That has an amazing southwestern feel to it! It is a really beautiful piece! Something I would absolutely wear!! Great job! And thanks for donating your clasps too, I love it!!

  11. What a beautiful color palette! Your clasp is AWESOME - and your addition of handmade components completes this beautiful picture! Lovely!

  12. Very good, I love heart design.

  13. You've really captured that Arizona vibe with your necklace!
And I love the idea of a sister's trip. Sounds like fun.
